Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd will relaunch the FM1 service under the Gemini Cooperation, restoring direct connectivity between Asia and the Middle East.
The relaunched service will connect major Asian gateways with Khor Fakkan in the United Arab Emirates.
The rotation will be:
Qingdao – Ningbo – Tanjung Pelepas – Khor Fakkan – Singapore – Qingdao
First FM1 sailing
The first sailing will be operated by Maersk Athabasca on voyage 642W. The vessel is scheduled to depart Qingdao on 17 October 2026 and arrive at Khor Fakkan on 16 November.
The FM1 relaunch will provide additional direct ocean capacity to Khor Fakkan. Maersk’s existing inland transportation services will provide onward connections to destinations across the Upper Gulf.
Existing booking restrictions and cargo acceptance guidelines for the Middle East will remain in effect.
Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd said they would continue monitoring the regional security situation. Further adjustments to Gemini Cooperation services will remain subject to developments across the Middle East.
