Lufthansa Cargo, WiseTech and IBS Software complete first ONE Record data exchange

Lufthansa Cargo, WiseTech Global and IBS Software have completed one of the first large-scale implementations of IATA’s ONE Record standard.

The partners successfully exchanged shipment records in a live production environment.

IATA introduced ONE Record in January 2026. The standard creates a common framework for sharing cargo data across airlines, freight forwarders and logistics partners.

Lufthansa Cargo worked with WiseTech and IBS Software to implement the standard.

WiseTech provides the CargoWise platform used by freight forwarders. IBS Software provides Lufthansa Cargo’s cargo management system.

The first use case focused on Master Air Waybill data.

A freight forwarder created shipment records in CargoWise. The records moved through the ONE Record standard. Lufthansa Cargo then received and processed the data through the IBS ONE Record server.

The new standard lets companies validate shipment data before cargo moves.

It also supports more shipment data and file formats than previous systems.

Lufthansa Cargo said the standard improves transparency across the supply chain. It also helps companies manage shipments more proactively.

“Lufthansa Cargo has been actively driving the introduction of ONE Record for many years to support more efficient, paperless data sharing within the industry,” said Dr. Jasmin Kaiser, Head of Information Management and Chief Data Officer at Lufthansa Cargo.

“Following several pilot projects, we are now ready to connect to customers and partners faster and more efficiently at scale. This seamless data exchange also lays the foundation for future digital benefits and AI-powered services.”

Elias Hatzigeorgiou, Senior Product Manager at WiseTech Global, said the project shows what can be achieved through industry collaboration.

“As early adopters, we are not only proving the value of IATA’s ONE Record standard but also helping accelerate the industry’s transition to a connected air cargo ecosystem,” he said.

Radhesh Menon, Head of Cargo & Logistics Solutions at IBS Software, said digitalization remains a key driver of growth for air cargo.

“Partnering with Lufthansa Cargo and WiseTech Global marks a significant collaboration for IBS Software. We look forward to supporting the industry’s evolving needs and advancing ONE Record-ready innovation,” he said.

ONE Record is IATA’s new standard for end-to-end cargo data exchange.

It uses a common data model and secure APIs.

The standard is open source. IATA continues to refine it through an open development process.

Airlines, freight forwarders, shippers and logistics platforms can connect through APIs. They can track, update and share shipment data in real time.
