The 21,000 TEU container ship OOCL Indonesia is expected to arrive at the La Spezia Container Terminal in the next days, marking a new milestone for the Italian box terminal.
Following an upgrade process initiated earlier this year, the Contship Group’s Gateway terminal is all set to receive OOCL’s Ultra Large Container Vessels (ULCV), as part of the Asia-West Mediterranean service (WM1 MEX2 AEM1 MD2) operated by Ocean Alliance.
These vessels, with a Length Overall (LOA) of 400 meters, will operate as a homogeneous fleet.
OOCL Indonesia belongs to the G-Class and is one of the most modern container ships in the world. This ship, along with two of its five sister ships, will be employed within the service connecting the Far East with West Mediterranean markets, with La Spezia being a key gateway in the northern Tyrrhenian Sea.
