Chilean mining company expands fleet with 23 Konecranes lift trucks

A Chilean mining company has ordered 23 Konecranes lift trucks to expand its material handling fleet at a major copper mine in northern Chile.

Konecranes booked the order in the first quarter of 2026. The company expects to deliver the equipment during the third quarter of the year.

The new lift trucks will support logistics operations at the mining site. They will increase handling capacity while improving fuel efficiency and equipment availability.

Chile is the world’s largest producer of copper. Its mining industry plays a key role in global supply chains that support infrastructure projects and the energy transition.

“Mining operations involve the frequent movement of heavy loads across sites, placing high demands on lift truck performance,” said Andres Ramirez, Regional Sales Development Manager, Lift Trucks, Konecranes. “This order shows how Konecranes equipment is built for the challenge. We’re proud to support logistics operations in one of Chile’s most important industrial sectors.”

The order includes 16 Konecranes F 16-600 C forklifts, four F 10-600 C forklifts and three SMV 32-1200 C heavy-duty lift trucks.

All 23 machines will feature mining kits designed for harsh operating conditions. The equipment also includes safety and ergonomic features to improve operator comfort and performance.

Trex Chile, Konecranes’ local distributor, will handle commissioning and aftersales support.

“We have built a close relationship with the customer by understanding their operations and the support they need in the demanding conditions of copper mining,” said Oscar Ibarra, Sales Manager, Trex Chile. “This fleet expansion reflects their positive experience with Konecranes equipment and our responsive local service.”

The package also includes five years of TRUCONNECT® Remote Monitoring. The system provides real-time equipment data to support preventive maintenance and maximize uptime.

Konecranes will also provide technical training, an extended warranty and a spare parts package to support the customer’s operations from the start.
