Kalmar has secured new orders to supply four electric reachstackers to customers across Inner Mongolia, Tianjin, Shanghai and Hong Kong.

The orders were recorded in Kalmar’s second-quarter 2026 order intake. Deliveries will continue throughout the second, third and fourth quarters of the year.

The machines were built at Kalmar’s recently expanded Shanghai manufacturing plant.

The reachstackers are the first to feature Kalmar’s next-generation lithium-ion battery technology.

The new batteries provide greater energy capacity, improved thermal stability and more predictable performance in different operating conditions.

The machines also support GB/T fast charging, China’s standard for electric vehicle charging. Customers can connect the reachstackers directly to the local power grid without additional adapters.

Kalmar said the expanded Shanghai plant strengthens its manufacturing capacity and improves its ability to meet growing demand for electric cargo-handling equipment in China.

John Zhang, Managing Director of Kalmar’s Shanghai plant, said the orders reflect the increasing adoption of electric heavy machinery across the Chinese market.

He added that the expanded production facility enables Kalmar to respond more quickly to customer demand.

Alex Tang, Vice President of Kalmar Greater China, said more companies are investing in electric cargo-handling equipment to improve operational efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.

He said Kalmar will continue supporting customers as they transition to lower-emission equipment fleets.
