Kalmar electric trucks to boost sustainability of BJB Lift Trucks fleet in UK

Kalmar has agreed to provide 15 medium electric forklift trucks to UK material handling equipment (MHE) supplier BJB Lift Trucks.

The order was placed in the 2023 Q2 order intake of Kalmar’s mother company Cargotec, with delivery scheduled for the fourth quarter of the year.

BJB is a market leader in MHE solutions in the United Kingdom. The firm, headquartered in Grimsby in the country’s East Midlands area, provides a range of forklift truck and industrial and construction equipment solutions, as well as operator training services, to customers across the UK.

Currently, BJB has 36 diesel-powered Kalmar medium forklift trucks in its fleet.

Medium electric forklifts from Kalmar provide all of the advantages of a strong diesel truck without emissions, noise, or vibration. They have an ergonomically built EGO interior for a better driving experience, with movable control panels, steering wheel, and seat, as well as excellent vision, according to a statement.

“Electrically powered forklift trucks are becoming increasingly popular as a way to reduce emissions and fuel costs across a wide range of material-handling applications. Kalmar is a trusted partner for BJB and their medium electric forklift truck is a state-of-the-art solution that we are pleased to welcome to our fleet,” stated Ian Roden, director at BJB.
