Grupo JSV has expanded its owned fleet with the addition of a third containership, which will be renamed Green Canarias.
The vessel, previously operating under the name Njord on charter to JSV, has a capacity of 809 TEUs and is equipped with a scrubber system designed to reduce emissions during operations.
The addition of Green Canarias strengthens JSV’s fleet as the company continues to invest in vessels that comply with increasingly stringent environmental regulations.
The new acquisition joins the company’s two recently introduced next-generation containerships, Mila Green and Miranda Green, both offering 1,208 TEUs of capacity and built with methanol-ready propulsion.
According to JSV, the three owned vessels will enhance the company’s ability to provide fast, efficient and more sustainable services, particularly on its routes connecting mainland Spain with the Canary Islands and Turkey.
Sonia Herzog, CEO of Grupo JSV, said the fleet expansion marks an important milestone in the company’s strategy of controlling key logistics assets while supporting its long-term sustainability goals through its Move to Green initiative.
