Hiab advances €19 million expansion of MULTILIFT facility in Finland

Hiab has marked a major milestone in the €19 million expansion of its MULTILIFT production facility in Raisio, Finland, with the laying of the project’s foundation stone.

The ceremony took place on 19 August, as construction moves forward on the investment first announced in May 2025.

The expanded facility is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2027.

Expansion to increase MULTILIFT production capacity

The project will create a next-generation production environment and increase Hiab’s capacity to manufacture MULTILIFT demountable systems.

The equipment serves both commercial and defence sectors.

Hiab said the investment will strengthen its manufacturing capabilities while supporting the company’s long-term growth plans.

“The expansion of the Raisio production facility is an important strategic milestone for Hiab, strengthening our leadership position and supporting our long-term growth targets,” said Scott Phillips, President of Hiab.

Energy efficiency and working environment improvements

The expansion will also introduce new energy-efficient solutions designed to reduce the factory’s energy consumption.

In addition, Hiab plans to modernise its production and office spaces. The company expects the changes to improve employee safety, comfort and overall working conditions.

Phillips said the project also represents an important step towards reducing emissions from manufacturing and improving energy efficiency across Hiab’s sites.

During the foundation stone ceremony, Hiab placed a time capsule containing historical material from its operations in Raisio.

The capsule also included images of the latest MULTILIFT TALON and New Optima products, plans for the new facility and other material documenting the expansion.
