Hapag-Lloyd has announced an update to its Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) for shipments from Asia and Oceania to West Africa and East Africa.
The revised surcharge will apply to all cargo loaded from June 20, 2026, and will remain in effect until further notice.
Under the updated structure, cargo moving from Asia and Oceania to West Africa will be subject to a PSS of USD 350 per TEU for all container types.
Shipments destined for East Africa will face a surcharge of USD 400 per TEU, also applicable to all container types.
Hapag-Lloyd noted that existing ocean tariff rates, bunker-related surcharges, security-related surcharges and Terminal Handling Charges (THCs) will remain unchanged.
