Hapag-Lloyd increases Asia-Oceania rates

German ocean carrier Hapag-Lloyd has announced a new General Rate Increase (GRI) for shipments from Asia to Oceania.

The rate increase will apply to dry and reefer containers, as well as high cube equipment, and will be effective from 1 March until further notice.

Hapag-Lloyd said the GRI will be US$300 per TEU and published the following geographical scope of this rate increase:

Asia: Brunei, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam

Oceania: Australia, Cook Islands, Fiji, Micronesia, New Caledonia, New Zealand, French Polynesia, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu, Wallis and Futuna Island
