Hai An expands container fleet to support Intra-Asia network

Hai An containers

Hai An Transport and Stevedoring Joint Stock Company is investing in new container equipment to strengthen its operational capacity and support its regional network expansion.

In late April 2026, subsidiary Hai An Container Transport Company Limited signed a contract with Hoa Phat Container Production Joint Stock Company. The agreement covers the construction of 850 new containers.

The order comprises 650 20-foot containers and 200 40-foot containers. Following two months of implementation, Hai An began receiving the first batches in July 2026 and putting them into operation.

Hai An adds 2,000 containers since 2024

The latest order forms part of Hai An’s ongoing container fleet expansion programme.

Since 2024, the company has ordered 2,000 new containers from Hoa Phat. The total includes 1,500 20-foot units and 500 40-foot units.

Hai An currently manages and operates nearly 12,700 containers. Of these, 2,000 units have been newly built since 2024.

The additional equipment will give the company greater control over container availability. It will also support service quality across Hai An’s domestic and international shipping operations.

Container management and maintenance

Alongside its fleet expansion, Hai An is working to improve container quality and operational efficiency.

The company holds certification under the Approved Continuous Examination Programme (ACEP). Combined with the new equipment, this provides a basis for more systematic container inspections, maintenance, repairs and lifecycle management.

Supporting Intra-Asia expansion

The investment also supports Hai An’s strategy to expand its Intra-Asia shipping network.

The company expects demand for reliable, high-quality container equipment to increase as it launches new services. Therefore, Hai An plans to continue its container construction programme in the coming period.

The additional equipment will support the expansion of the company’s shipping and logistics operations. Moreover, Hai An expects the programme to strengthen its market connectivity and competitive position.
