Freightos has joined the IATA Digitalization Leadership Charter to support the adoption of digital standards across the global air cargo industry.

The company said the initiative aims to improve interoperability, real-time connectivity and data exchange between carriers, freight forwarders, shippers and technology providers.

IATA launched the Charter to accelerate digital transformation across the air cargo sector.

The initiative focuses on five key priorities. These include interoperability, cybersecurity, paperless operations, automation and the responsible use of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.

Freightos said stronger digital connectivity will help reduce integration challenges and improve efficiency across global supply chains.

Pablo Pinillos, CEO and Interim CFO of Freightos, said industry collaboration and common standards are essential for improving connectivity across the logistics sector.

He added that real-time data exchange and interoperable systems will help create a more agile, intelligent and resilient freight ecosystem.

Jonathan Parkinson, Head of Cargo Digitalization at IATA, welcomed Freightos to the initiative.

He said digital transformation requires cooperation across the entire air cargo industry and highlighted the importance of data sharing, interoperability and standards such as ONE Record.

Freightos said its vendor-neutral digital platform supports the industry’s transition toward universal data standards and greater digital connectivity.
