Evergreen, PIL, CULines and RCL launch revamped intra-Asia service

Pacific International Lines (PIL), Regional Container Lines (RCL), China United Lines (CUL) and Evergreen Marine Corp (EMC) launched a revamped weekly direct service connecting key ports in China, Singapore, the West Coast of India and Pakistan.

PIL names the service China-Subcontinent Express service (CSE) and it will commence on 17 July 2023 from the port of Shanghai. The service will be operated by a consortium of six vessels of 3,000-4,200 TEUs each. It is known that PIL will deploy two boxships on the service.

The port rotation of the service will be Shanghai (China) - Ningbo (China) - Shekou (China) - Singapore – Port Kelang (West Port, Malaysia) - Nhava Sheva (India) - Mundra (Gujarat) - Karachi (Pakistan) – Port Kelang (West Port, Malaysia) - Singapore - Haiphong (Vietnam) - Shanghai

Tonnie Lim, chief trade officer of PIL, commented, "The revamped CSE is therefore designed to improve our connectivity from Central China to the India Sub-continent, with additional coverage from India’s West Coast and Pakistan to Singapore, our key transhipment hub in the region."

He added, "With this enhancement, we will be able to facilitate stronger linkages to PIL’s broader network while boosting our customers’ access to more markets."
