Europe leads in logistics resilience as East Asia and US could face port congestion risks

As global demand increases, congestion challenges are likely to strain regional economies, particularly in key areas of Europe, America, and East Asia.

UNCTAD predicts that maritime trade volume will grow by 2% in 2024, with containerized trade volume rising by 3.5%. Between 2025 and 2029, it is projected that total seaborne trade will expand annually by 2.4% and containerized trade by 2.7%.
