EuroHoldings has announced time charter extensions for two of its feeder containerships, Joanna and Aegean Express.
The 1,732 TEU Joanna secured an extension for at least 30 months, with an additional period of up to 20 days at the charterer’s option. The vessel will earn a gross daily rate of US$24,000 under the new contract, which will commence on 2 December 2026.
The 1,439 TEU Aegean Express secured an extension lasting between 24 and 26 months, at the charterer’s option. The new contract will begin on 1 January 2027 at a gross daily rate of US$20,500.
Both vessels will continue directly from their existing charters.
“These fixtures are a testament to the continued firmness of the containership charter market, even for vintage vessels, amid ongoing geopolitical disruptions and a complete shortage of prompt tonnage to meet operators’ continued requirements,” said Aristides Pittas, Chairman and CEO of EuroHoldings.
Pittas added that the extensions would generate significant cash flows, strengthen the company’s balance sheet and support its strategy of expanding its presence in the product tanker market.
EuroHoldings expects the two charters to generate approximately US$24 million in combined EBITDA over their minimum contracted periods.
The agreements increase the company’s charter coverage to approximately 79% for 2026, 48% for 2027 and 47% for 2028.
