CNC introduces new Bay Bengal service

CMA CGM-owned intra-Asia short sea specialist CNC has announced a new Bay Bengal Express 6 (BBX6) service which will connect the ports of Bangladesh, Malaysia, Vietnam and China.

The first sailing of the BBX6 service is expected on 22 August and the new service will have the following port rotation:

Qingdao (China) – Shanghai (China) – Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam)– Port Klang (Malaysia) – Chittagong (Bangladesh) – Port Klang – Ho Chi Minh City – Xiamen – Qingdao.

CNC said that transit times from Ho Chi Minh to Port Klang and Chittagong will be three and seven days respectively. BBX6 also establishes a new direct connection between North China and Bangladesh, facilitating the movement of cargo between the two countries.

The company noted the service doubles up as an alternative shipping choice for China-bound cargoes from Vietnam.

“Through the transshipment hubs of Shanghai and Port Klang, BBX6 cargo can be shipped to markets afar through the intra-regional network of CNC and global network of the CMA CGM Group,” pointed out CNC in an announcement.
