CMA CGM sets new FAK rates from Asia to North Europe

CMA CGM CHAMPS ELYSEE

CMA CGM has announced updated Freight All Kinds (FAK) rates for shipments from Asia to North Europe, effective from May 15, 2026, until further notice.

Under the new pricing structure, rates are set at USD 1,950 for 20-foot containers and USD 3,500 for 40-foot, high cube and reefer containers. The rates apply on a base port-to-base port basis, with out-ports subject to additional charges.

The revised FAK rates will cover cargo originating from all Asian ports, including Japan, Southeast Asia and Bangladesh, and destined for ports across North Europe. The destination scope includes the United Kingdom and extends from Portugal to Finland and Estonia.

The rates apply to a wide range of cargo types, including dry containers, out-of-gauge shipments, reefer cargo and paying empty containers.

CMA CGM noted that the announced rates include basic freight and bunker-related surcharges. However, additional costs such as terminal handling charges at origin and destination, emissions trading system (ETS) fees and safety and security surcharges will apply separately. Other local and contingency charges may also be applicable depending on the shipment.

The company said customers should contact their local offices for further details on specific commodities, port combinations or equipment requirements.
