The vessel joins a series of six CMA CGM containerships named after characters from French literature. Lorenzaccio takes its name from the protagonist of the play by French writer Alfred de Musset.

Under the command of Captain Predrag Vojvodic, CMA CGM Lorenzaccio will be deployed on the carrier’s Red Sea Express 2 (REX2) service.

The weekly REX2 service connects major Asian ports with destinations in the Red Sea, including Djibouti, Jeddah, Ain Sokhna and Aqaba.

The addition of CMA CGM Lorenzaccio expands the carrier’s methanol-capable fleet as CMA CGM continues investing in vessels designed to operate with alternative marine fuels.
