CMA CGM announces new PSS on Far East-East Africa and Seychelles trades

CMA CGM has announced new Peak Season Surcharges (PSS) on shipments from the Far East and China to destinations in East Africa and the Seychelles.

The new surcharges will take effect from 1 July 2026, with the East Africa charges applying to short-term contracts until further notice.

For cargo moving from the Far East to Port Victoria, Seychelles, CMA CGM will apply a PSS of US$500 per TEU on all cargo.

For shipments from China to East Africa, the carrier announced the following surcharges:

  • North, Central and South China to Mombasa, Kenya and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania: US$750 per TEU for dry and reefer cargo.
  • North and Central China to Zanzibar, Tanzania: US$900 per TEU for dry and reefer cargo.
  • South China to Zanzibar, Tanzania: US$1,100 per TEU for dry and reefer cargo.

CMA CGM said the new Peak Season Surcharges are part of its efforts to maintain reliable and efficient services.
