CMA CGM announces new FAK rates on Asia-Europe and Europe-ISC trades

CMA CGM has announced new Freight All Kinds (FAK) rates on several major trade lanes connecting Asia, Europe, the Mediterranean, North Africa, India and Pakistan.

The new rates will take effect from 1 July 2026, with some measures remaining in place until 15 July 2026.

Asia to North Europe

CMA CGM will apply new FAK rates on cargo moving from all Asian ports, including Japan, Southeast Asia and Bangladesh, to North Europe.

The rate for a 20ft container will be US$3,700. The rate for 40ft, 40ft high-cube and reefer containers will be US$6,300.

The rates apply to dry cargo, out-of-gauge cargo, paying empties and reefer shipments.

The carrier said the rates include basic ocean freight and bunker-related surcharges. Additional charges, including terminal handling, ETS and security-related surcharges, may apply.

Europe to India and Pakistan

CMA CGM will also increase FAK rates on shipments from North Europe and Mediterranean ports to India and Pakistan.

From North Europe, rates to the Indian Subcontinent will rise from US$600 to US$700 per 20ft container and from US$500 to US$600 per 40ft container.

Rates to Pakistan will increase from US$700 to US$800 per 20ft container and from US$600 to US$700 per 40ft container.

From the West Mediterranean, rates to India will increase to US$700 per container, while rates to Pakistan will rise to US$800.

From the East Mediterranean, rates to India will increase to US$900 per 20ft container and US$800 per 40ft container. Rates to Pakistan will rise to US$1,000 per 20ft container and US$900 per 40ft container.

The revised rates apply to dry cargo and paying empty containers from 1 July 2026.

Asia to Mediterranean and North Africa

CMA CGM has also announced higher FAK rates from Asia to the Mediterranean, Black Sea and North Africa.

Rates to the West Mediterranean will be set at US$5,700 per 20ft container and US$7,700 per 40ft container.

Rates to the Adriatic will reach US$5,900 per 20ft container and US$7,900 per 40ft container.

For the East Mediterranean and Black Sea, CMA CGM will charge US$6,200 per 20ft container and US$8,500 per 40ft container.

Shipments to Algeria will be subject to the highest rates, at US$7,200 per 20ft container and US$10,200 per 40ft container.

The rates apply to dry, reefer, out-of-gauge cargo and paying empty containers loaded between 1 and 15 July 2026.
