cargo-partner opens its first warehouse in UK

Global transport and logistics provider cargo-partner announced the opening of its first warehouse facility in the United Kingdom, marking a significant milestone in its strategic expansion projects.

Located close to one of the company’s existing offices in Basildon, the new 4,460 m² warehouse facility complements cargo-partner’s established UK operational hubs spanning Manchester, Bradford, and London.

Additionally, featuring designated zones for pallet storage, block storage, small parts storage, as well as picking/packing and various value-added services such as re-packing and re-labelling, the Basildon warehouse seamlessly integrates into cargo-partner’s extensive global network. Staffed by a team of dedicated professionals, the warehouse serves as a versatile road hub facilitating nationwide import, export, distribution, and e-commerce services.

“We’re delighted to be continuing to deliver on our growth strategy, providing another great location for us to support our customers and partners. While we have always offered warehousing services through partners, the Basildon facility represents our first cargo-partner-managed warehousing facility in the UK. This strategic investment marks a significant milestone in our journey to provide end-to-end logistics solutions to our customers,” stated Fergal Keenan, managing director of Ireland & UK at cargo-partner.

The expansion of the company into Basildon and the introduction of this new warehouse facility come on the heels of a period of rapid growth in the UK. The company expanded its presence in the country by opening its fourth UK office opposite London Heathrow Airport in November 2023. With a well-established base in Dublin, Ireland, cargo-partner is strategically positioned to cater to businesses of all scales across the British Isles for their local and international trade needs.

Originating from Austria, the logistics provider has historically maintained a robust presence in Central and Eastern Europe. However, it has recently made significant investments to broaden its footprint in Western Europe. While cargo-partner has had longstanding branch offices in Germany, Benelux, Sweden, and Ireland, it has more recently extended its network into the UK, Italy, and Spain.

The newly inaugurated Basildon warehouse adds to cargo-partner’s portfolio of modern facilities worldwide, delivering top-tier services and reliability. With over 300,000 m² of storage space spread across Europe, Southeast Asia, and the US, cargo-partner already operates a dense network of warehouses. Notable recent logistics investments in Western Europe include the 10,000 m² iLogistics Center in Sottrum near Hamburg in Germany and the 5,900 m² warehouse in Roermond in the Netherlands.
