AD Ports Group secures UN recognition for Al Faya Dry Port

AD Ports Group has secured a United Nations Code for Trade and Transport Locations (UN/LOCODE) for Al Faya Dry Port, strengthening its integration into the global trade and logistics network.

The facility has been assigned the code AEALF by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), giving it international recognition as an inland logistics hub.

The designation supports more efficient cargo movement between ports, inland terminals and multimodal transport corridors. It also improves integration with global shipping, customs and digital trade platforms.

“Securing the UN/LOCODE for Al Faya Dry Port marks a significant milestone in further integrating the UAE into the global trade and transport network,” said Saif Al Mazrouei, CEO of the Ports Cluster at AD Ports Group. “The designation strengthens connectivity, streamlines customs processes and enhances supply chain resilience.”

The new status allows Abu Dhabi Customs to process customs declarations at a single approved facility. It also enables bonded cargo to move between connected logistics hubs without additional customs documentation within Abu Dhabi.

The designation supports the issuance of Through Bills of Lading, allowing Al Faya Dry Port to serve as both an export origin and an import destination.

Located between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, Al Faya Dry Port is digitally integrated with Khalifa Port. The facility provides container handling, customs-controlled cargo services and integrated logistics solutions to support growing trade volumes across the UAE.
