A platform launched to consolidate European port innovation knowledge

The Green Innovation Compass has been launched as a publicly accessible knowledge platform consolidating European expertise on innovative technologies and solutions for the port ecosystem, providing independent and practical insights for all port stakeholders.

The platform is one of the key legacy outcomes of the EU Horizon 2020-funded MAGPIE project, in which the Port of Rotterdam participated alongside ports, companies, knowledge institutions and governments collaborating on innovative solutions for the port of the future.

A central lesson from the MAGPIE project was that knowledge about port innovations is often available in fragmented form across different organisations and geographies.

The Green Innovation Compass addresses this gap by bringing together research findings, demonstration project results and practical experiences from ports, companies and knowledge institutions across Europe on a single accessible platform.

To ensure the long-term continuity of the knowledge platform following the completion of the MAGPIE project, ALICE, the Alliance for Logistics Innovation through Collaboration in Europe, has taken on the role of legacy partner and will maintain and develop the platform going forward.
