Visayas Container Terminal, ICTSI’s operation at the Port of Iloilo in the Philippines, has welcomed the inaugural call of Maersk’s PH6 service, marking a significant step forward in international trade connectivity for the Visayas region.
The service provides customers in Panay and the wider Western Visayas region with direct access to key trade hubs in Yantian, Mainland China, and Hong Kong, extending connectivity to major global markets across Asia Pacific, the United States, Latin America, Europe and the Middle East.
Optimised transit times under the service are expected to help importers and exporters reduce overall logistics costs.
The PH6 service calls VCT every Tuesday, operating on a rotation covering Yantian, Hong Kong, Batangas, Tagoloan in the Cagayan area, Cebu, Iloilo and back to Yantian.
John Largo, CEO of VCT, described the addition of the PH6 service as a reflection of the terminal’s growing role in regional trade and a vote of confidence in its capabilities as a modern gateway able to handle foreign container vessels while delivering precise and reliable service to customers across the region.
