United Airlines and DB Schenker have signed an agreement to minimise CO2 emissions throughout the supply chain industry.
DB Schenker has joined United Airlines' Eco-Skies Alliance, which brings together some of the leading global corporations to accelerate solutions that can help decarbonise the aviation sector.
Sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) is currently the most scalable option available to decarbonise air freight, and unlike offsetting, it reduces the actual CO2e emissions from air travel.
According to the statement, using SAF, DB Schenker and United Airlines are taking a giant leap toward a more sustainable and better future for the logistics industry.
“We remain committed to reducing the carbon footprint within supply chains wherever possible. Key to this is providing our customers with innovative, sustainable solutions such as SAF,” commented Thorsten Meincke, DB Schenker's board member of Air and Ocean Freight.
