Sidra Line to launch Algerian Express service

Drewry’s Intra-Asia Container Index (IACI) recorded its first weekly increase in two weeks, rising by 4% in the third week of April.

Sidra Line is set to introduce a new service connecting Spain and Algeria, strengthening trade links across the western Mediterranean.

The new service, branded Algerian Express, will operate on a fortnightly basis and will deploy a multipurpose vessel capable of carrying both containerized and general cargo.

According to the company, the service will call at the Spanish ports of Sagunto and Alicante, before continuing to Oran and Bejaia in Algeria.

The launch of the Algerian Express is expected to enhance connectivity between the two countries while providing flexible transport solutions for a range of cargo types across the Mediterranean trade lane.
