Samudera has strengthened its sustainable logistics operations through a new solar panel project at a warehouse operated by its subsidiary, Samudera Logistics Services.
The pilot project entered full operation in June 2026. It includes 1,216 solar panels with a combined installed capacity of 753.92 kWp.
The initiative supports Samudera’s Environmental, Social and Governance targets and wider sustainability strategy.
Solar energy to cover warehouse demand
Samudera expects the solar power system to supply approximately 25% to 30% of the warehouse’s total electricity demand.
The facility will use all generated electricity for its internal operations. Therefore, it will reduce its dependence on the conventional power grid and energy generated from fossil fuels.
In addition, the company expects the project to improve energy efficiency and support long-term operating cost optimisation.
Samudera targets lower carbon emissions
The solar installation is projected to reduce carbon emissions by approximately 819 tonnes of COâ‚‚ each year.
According to Samudera, the project supports its commitment to achieving net-zero emissions. It will also help customers pursue their own sustainability targets and promote more responsible supply chain management.
