Rhenus Group has opened a new dangerous goods warehouse in Bangkok, Thailand.
The facility expands the company’s specialized warehousing capabilities in Southeast Asia. It is located near major ports and next to Rhenus’ existing KM19 warehouse in Bangna Trad.
The new warehouse covers 5,817 square metres. Rhenus will open the facility in phases. It will handle both dangerous and non-dangerous cargo while maintaining strict safety separation and compliance standards.
The warehouse includes:
- 90-minute fire-rated walls and doors
- Explosion-proof electrical systems
- Explosion-proof ventilation
- Dedicated fire pumps and sprinkler systems.
Marcus Fornell said the investment supports growing manufacturing activity in Southeast Asia as companies continue shifting production through China+1 strategies.
He added that Thailand remains an important regional hub for Rhenus’ expansion plans.
Pakpoom Chaokaweepong said the new facility improves operational flexibility and supports integrated warehousing solutions for customers handling mixed cargo types.
Thailand’s warehousing market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 8.7% between 2023 and 2028. Growth is driven by e-commerce expansion, rising foreign investment and increasing demand for third-party logistics services.
Rhenus has operated in Thailand since 1994. The company currently runs 14 locations across Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Khon Kaen. It serves sectors including chemicals, automotive, healthcare, manufacturing, retail and e-commerce.
