Rhenus Alpina increased its revenue in Switzerland to CHF 454 million in 2025 despite geopolitical tensions, trade disputes and weaker export demand.

The company said investments in logistics infrastructure, automation and sustainability helped strengthen its market position and support future growth.

Rhenus Logistics maintained warehouse utilisation between 80% and 95% during the year. The opening of its new logistics facility in Möhlin expanded warehouse capacity and improved productivity through increased automation.

In air freight, Cargologic extended its partnership with Swiss WorldCargo for another seven years, effective from 1 April 2026. Rhenus said the agreement strengthens Switzerland’s position as an international air cargo hub.

Rhenus Port Logistics expanded its handling capacity by commissioning two new Sennebogen cranes and opening Terminal 4 at the Port of Basel. The new terminal features the city’s largest photovoltaic system, while silo utilisation reached 92%.

Meanwhile, Contargo increased its market share in regional intermodal transport and continued expanding its customer base. Construction of the new Nordquai 2 terminal is underway and is scheduled for completion in autumn 2026.

Rhenus Alpina employs around 1,611 people in Switzerland and said it will continue investing in infrastructure, digitalisation and sustainable logistics to support long-term growth.
