PSA BDP launches carbon dashboard for freight emissions tracking

PSA BDP, a leading provider of global logistics and supply chain solutions, has introduced its new Carbon Dashboard data service.

This innovative platform enables shippers to accurately measure their freight carbon emissions using a cutting-edge methodology, helping them to more effectively meet their sustainability goals.

Currently, many companies struggle with visibility into their freight carbon emissions due to challenges such as consolidating reports from multiple forwarders and carriers, inconsistent data from various tools and methodologies, a lack of a unified platform for COâ‚‚ emissions, and difficulty setting baselines and targets for Scope 3 greenhouse gas (GHG) reductions without clear, accurate measurement.

In addition, PSA BDP’s new digital tool addresses these issues by providing a streamlined solution that delivers actionable insights.

The Carbon Dashboard offers detailed data on emissions across various transportation modes, including pre- and post-carriage, empowering customers to make informed decisions that support sustainable shipping.

Furthermore, emission calculations are powered by the EcoTransIT World emissions calculator, which aligns with the ISO 14083 standard and adheres to the Global Logistics Emissions Council (GLEC) Framework, the industry-standard methodology.

Additionally, the Dashboard provides insights into designing more efficient logistics processes through analysis of individual freight lanes and carriers, as well as the ability to track container fill rates—a critical key performance indicator.

This allows users to see the relationship between changes in tonnes/TEU and COâ‚‚e intensity, offering a more comprehensive view of costs that can help drive operational savings.

“At PSA BDP, we are committed to driving innovation and sustainability in the supply chain industry. The Carbon Dashboard unlocks data and helps not only to measure, account for, and set baselines and targets but also to develop, implement and track the programs which will deliver carbon reductions across our customers’ supply chains. While sustainability has been a focal point for the industry for years, many customers still face issues when managing the complex tracking of their freight emissions. This tool will help bridge the gap, enabling our customers to enhance their environmental stewardship and contribute to a more sustainable future,” stated Peggy Murphy, VP of Sustainability, PSA BDP.
