Port Saint John has announced the appointment of four new members to its Board of Directors, strengthening governance during a period of growth and transformation for the gateway.

Chris MacDonald, Charlene Hayes, Charlie Harling and Nicole Paquet have each been appointed to three-year terms effective this spring, with appointments made through federal and provincial processes in accordance with the governance framework established under the Canada Marine Act.

The incoming directors bring extensive experience across governance, public affairs, leadership, economic development and stakeholder engagement, supporting the Board’s oversight role as Port Saint John continues to advance as one of Canada’s rapidly growing trade gateways.

The appointments are intended to support continuity and effective governance as the port pursues its long-term vision for sustainable growth and trade-enabling infrastructure.

Jack Keir, Chair of the Board of Directors, welcomed the new directors on behalf of the Board, highlighting their experience and perspectives as valuable assets in supporting the port’s strategic direction and long-term success.

Port Saint John also extended thanks to outgoing directors Shelley Rinehart, Thomas O’Neil and Shilo Boucher for their service and contributions during their respective terms.

The Saint John Port Authority Board of Directors comprises seven members: five federal appointees, one provincial appointee and one member appointed by the City of Saint John.
