MSC will partially restore Suez Canal transits on its Indusa service following a review of security and operational conditions in the Red Sea.
The service, which connects the Indian subcontinent, the United States and Mexico, will resume Red Sea operations for westbound cargo only.
First westbound sailing scheduled for September
The first vessel operating under the revised arrangement will be MSC Domna X, voyage IV637A, departing Colombo on 23 September 2026.
Eastbound sailings will continue to operate via the Cape of Good Hope.
MSC said it will progressively update individual booking confirmations and online schedules to reflect the revised voyage plans. The carrier will implement the transition on a case-by-case basis.
The company will continue monitoring developments in coordination with the relevant authorities and security partners. Contingency arrangements also remain in place, allowing individual voyages to be adjusted if conditions change.
MSC said the safety of its seafarers, vessels and customers’ cargo remains its highest priority.
