MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company has expanded its intermodal operations in Cameroon by integrating the Port of Kribi into a door-to-door logistics solution, strengthening cargo connectivity between Cameroon and key inland markets across the region, including Chad and the Central African Republic (CAR).
The service combines ocean freight, port operations and inland road transport into a single coordinated offering, linking Kribi to Yaoundé in Cameroon, Moundou and N’Djamena in Chad, and Bangui in the Central African Republic. With up to four weekly vessel calls and direct connections to Asia — including China, South Korea, Vietnam and India — the integration offers businesses a faster and more cost-efficient way to move cargo into and out of the region.
Kribi is Cameroon’s only deep-water port and the largest in Central Africa, making it a strategically significant gateway for regional trade. As cargo volumes across the continent continue to grow, its inclusion in MSC’s intermodal network is expected to ease pressure on existing trade routes and improve overall supply chain efficiency.
From the port, MSC manages inland distribution through its local teams, covering documentation, customs clearance, transport coordination and real-time shipment tracking. The carrier says every stage of the journey is handled to ensure cargo moves efficiently and with full visibility from port to final destination.
The Kribi integration forms part of MSC’s broader intermodal campaign series for Africa. It follows the first episode of the series, which highlighted the carrier’s Abidjan–Ouagadougou rail solution, and continues the company’s effort to showcase how it is strengthening cargo flows across the African continent.
