Major restructuring for intra-Asia service, as Evergreen upgrades its role

The joint service FAX/IEA/EAX/REA/FAS – operated by Emirates Shipping Line, Global Feeder Shipping, Interasia Lines, KMTC, Regional Container Lines, and T.S. Lines – is undergoing a significant change.

Effective in October, the service will be restructured into two distinct loops, focusing separately on routes to Kenya and Tanzania.

The reconfiguration introduces two new services with enhanced capabilities. The FNX/IEA/EAX1 loop will deploy eight vessels, each with a capacity of 2,200 TEUs. This loop will navigate a route connecting Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Guangzhou (Nansha), Shenzhen (Chiwan), and Port Kelang, before reaching Dar es Salaam and returning to Qingdao.

Meanwhile, the FHX/IEA/EAX2 loop will feature another eight vessels, each with a slightly larger capacity of 2,400 TEUs. This service will cover a route from Qingdao to Shanghai, Ningbo, Guangzhou (Nansha), and Port Kelang, continuing to Mombasa before making its way back to Qingdao.

Evergreen Line will elevate its involvement in the service network from a slot operator to a vessel provider for both routes, enhancing the service’s efficiency and reach.
