Maersk updates fuel surcharges in Skopje and Cyprus

Maersk containers in new style

Maersk will revise its truck fuel surcharges in Skopje and Cyprus from 21 September 2026.

The carrier attributed the adjustments to higher fuel costs linked to the continuing situation in the Middle East.

Revised truck surcharges

Market Truck fuel surcharge
Skopje 22.5%
Cyprus 15%

Maersk will display the charges on invoices as the Export Fuel Surcharge and Import Fuel Surcharge, using the EFS and IFS codes.

The company described the measure as temporary and said it would remain in place for as long as necessary to cover increased fuel costs.

Maersk will review the surcharge levels weekly instead of monthly. It will publish any adjustments every Friday for the following week, without applying the usual trigger mechanism.

The carrier will continue assessing market conditions and may revise the charges on a country-by-country basis.

For non-FMC shipments, the applicable rate will depend on the Price Calculation Date linked to the estimated departure of the first vessel in the latest booking confirmation. Separate calculation rules apply to FMC-regulated and import shipments.
