Maersk will cease operations at its HOV Harlingen inland container depot in the Netherlands from 3 August 2026 as part of a wider optimization of its inland logistics network.
The carrier said the decision is intended to streamline its inland services while continuing to provide customers with alternative solutions through its nearby depots in Leeuwarden, Westerbroek and Meppel, where operations will remain unchanged.
From the effective date, the HOV Harlingen depot will no longer accept cargo associated with Maersk bookings. Customers affected by the closure have already been notified and provided with alternative inland transport options.
Maersk said the network adjustment is aimed at maintaining efficient supply chain solutions while optimizing its inland service offering across the Netherlands.
