Lomé Container Terminal (LCT) will receive nine new lift trucks from Konecranes in Q2 2026. The order includes two reach stackers and seven empty container handlers. The upgrade supports terminal expansion and rising cargo volumes.
LCT is a key logistics gateway in West Africa. It handles large volumes of regional and transshipment cargo. The terminal already operates a major Konecranes fleet, including 32 rubber-tired gantry cranes.
The two SMV 4632 TC5 reach stackers will handle containers across the yard. The seven SMV 7/8 ECC90 units will manage empty container stacking and repositioning. Paterson Simons will support delivery and after-sales service across the region.
The new machines will replace older equipment in the fleet. They offer high performance, improved safety, and better ergonomics. Operators will benefit from a more efficient and comfortable working environment.
The lift trucks include TRUCONNECT® remote monitoring. This system provides real-time data for preventive maintenance and improved uptime. Combined with global service support, it will help LCT maintain smooth operations as volumes grow.
“Konecranes equipment has proven its value over many years. These new machines support our growth as a regional hub and give our teams better visibility into performance,” said Bernard Abboud, Technical Director at LCT.
The terminal opened in 2014 and began working with Konecranes the same year. The partnership has grown alongside the terminal’s expansion. Local support from Paterson Simons has ensured reliable performance and service.
“This order provides the right mix of equipment for yard operations. Our partnership with Paterson Simons brings strong local expertise and supports efficient operations,” said John Elisson, Regional Manager MEA at Konecranes.
Konecranes continues to invest in digitalization and advanced technology. The company aims to improve material flow efficiency while supporting decarbonization, safety, and circular economy goals.
