Kalmar launches upgraded T2i terminal tractor

Kalmar has introduced the upgraded T2i Terminal Tractor, combining enhanced modularity, improved ergonomics and a reinforced mechanical architecture, with production now underway at the company’s Shanghai facility.

The T2i is designed for heavy industrial sites, ports, terminals and distribution hubs across the APAC, Middle East, Africa and Latin America regions.

The T2i platform moves away from a standardised configuration approach, offering customers a modular framework to tailor the machine to their specific operational requirements.

Three lifting capacities are available at 28, 32 and 36 tonnes, with three wheelbase options of 2,950mm, 3,200mm and 3,450mm to optimise manoeuvrability across different site layouts.

Engine options include a Stage 3A Cummins QSB 6.7 for markets with less stringent emission standards and a Stage V Cummins B6.7 for regulated markets.

Structural enhancements include a reinforced frame, heavy-duty axles and a heavy-duty lift boom designed for sustained high-cycle performance.

The completely redesigned ROPS and FOPS certified cabin introduces a panoramic windscreen with no A-pillars and a curved corner design for improved operator visibility.

Internal noise levels have been reduced to 75 dB(A), among the lowest in its class, and a cabin height of 1.80 metres is paired with an optional high-capacity HVAC system for operation in extreme heat environments.

Thor Brenden, President of Terminal Tractors at Kalmar, described the T2i as the product of close engagement with market needs, delivering more safety features, greater configurability and consistent reliability now supported by the manufacturing capabilities of the Shanghai facility.
