Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha (“K” LINE) and Akademi Laut Malaysia (ALAM) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish a scholarship programme for students at the Malaysian maritime institution.
The initiative marks “K” LINE’s first maritime talent development programme in Malaysia and aims to support the next generation of maritime professionals through academic and practical training opportunities.
Under the programme, selected students will receive financial support as well as shipboard training aboard vessels managed by the “K” LINE Group, allowing them to gain hands-on operational experience at sea.
The two organisations said the scholarship programme is intended to help develop skilled maritime professionals while supporting students in building long-term academic and career pathways within the shipping industry.
Through the cooperation, “K” LINE and ALAM also aim to contribute to the advancement of maritime education in Malaysia and support the sustainable development of global maritime human resources.
