PAIWAN FORTUNE bulk carrier

Imabari Shipbuilding has delivered the 40,000 deadweight-ton bulk carrier PAIWAN FORTUNE from its Head Office & Imabari Shipyard.

The vessel is designed to transport a wide range of cargoes, including grain, coal, ore, cement, steel coils, and long steel products.

PAIWAN FORTUNE features a double-hull box-shaped hold construction with topside tanks and four deck cranes for cargo handling operations.

Each cargo hold is equipped with wide hatch openings and folding-type hatch covers to improve loading efficiency.

The ship also incorporates multiple environmental technologies to comply with MARPOL regulations, ballast water management rules and the Hong Kong Ship Recycling Convention.

Imabari Shipbuilding said the vessel was designed to meet future Phase 3 carbon emission requirements in addition to current Phase 2 standards.

The bulk carrier is equipped with ballast water treatment systems and an Inventory of Hazardous Materials (IHM).

Energy-saving devices, a high-efficiency propeller and low-friction hull paint were also installed to improve propulsion performance and fuel efficiency.

PAIWAN FORTUNE measures 182.93 meters in length and 31 meters in width, with a deadweight capacity of 40,048 tons.

The vessel is classed by DNV and sails under the Liberian flag.
