HMM sets US$1 per box charge for Indian medical supplies

In an effort to support India to overcome the extreme Covid-19 situation, HMM has imposed a charge of US$1 for ocean freight rates on every container with medical supplies to India.

The medical devices mainly include medical grade oxygen, oxygen tanks, oxygen bottles, oxygen concentrators, steel pipes for manufacturing oxygen cylinders and associated equipment, clarifies HMM in its announcement.

“Even though we are experiencing a shortage of both vessel space and containers worldwide, humanitarian activities should come first,” said an HMM official who went on to highlight, “We would like to carry out our social responsibilities with our all-round expertise and experience, while at the same time serving the world better than what we used to do.”
