German container shipping company Hapag-Lloyd has shown a strategic focus on enhancing its terminal operations in Europe.
A major step in Hapag-Lloyd’s port expansion strategy is its recent acquisition of a terminal in Le Havre, France, aligning with the company’s broader goal of growing its terminal and infrastructure business.
The development of Hapag-Lloyd’s port and terminal portfolio began in June 2023 with the separation of its liner business from its terminals & infrastructure division. About a year later, the company launched Hanseatic Global Terminals as its dedicated brand for port and terminal operations.
