Hapag-Lloyd adds Oakland port call in WSN service

Hapag-Lloyd has announced that the WSN service, connecting the West Coast of North America with Australia and New Zealand, will start weekly calls at the Port of Oakland.

This change, which will be effective from 12 June with the 4,612 TEU London Express, will be applicable for both directions in the service.

The WSN service will therefore have the following rotation:

Seattle (United States) – Vancouver (Canada) – Seattle (United States) – Oakland (United States) – Auckland (New Zealand) – Sydney (Australia) – Melbourne (Australia) – Papeete (French Polynesia)

Seattle will be called twice in WSN service. Hapag-Lloyd explained in a statement that one call will be dedicated to cargo discharge and one to loading cargo.

The WSN will also call the Port of Long Beach on a fortnightly basis, while the Papeete call has been added on a fortnightly basis as well, for the WSN/PNW loop service, which also links North America’s West Coast with New Zealand and Australia.
