GWC expands UAE operations with two new subsidiaries

GWC Group has expanded its operations in the United Arab Emirates with two new subsidiaries as part of a wider push to strengthen its logistics network across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

The Qatar-based logistics group has also formed a strategic partnership with Meydan Free Zone and expanded its Quick-Commerce network in the UAE.

The developments are designed to strengthen connections between customers in Qatar and markets across the wider GCC.

Two new UAE subsidiaries

GWC’s UAE operations are based at National Industries Park and connect businesses in the Emirates with Qatar and the group’s wider regional logistics network.

In response to customer demand, the company has established two new UAE subsidiaries serving the commercial trading and energy sectors.

GWC has also formalised a partnership with Meydan Free Zone. The agreement connects company formation and market-entry services through the free zone with GWC’s logistics and distribution network across Qatar and other GCC markets.

GWC develops multimodal GCC corridors

During the first half of 2026, GWC operated three multimodal trade corridors across the GCC.

These included a TIR-enabled air-land route through Hamad International Airport, providing additional options for moving essential goods and customer shipments between Qatar and regional markets.

The group also operated alternative sea-land and air-land routes linking Qatar, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Bahrain during periods of regional disruption.

“The capabilities we have built in Qatar remain the foundation of our regional growth,” said H.E. Sheikh Abdulla Bin Fahad Bin Jassim Bin Jaber Al Thani, Managing Director, GWC Group.

“Our expansion in the UAE forms part of our long-term commitment to building a more connected logistics network across the region.”

Expansion continues in Oman and Saudi Arabia

GWC is also expanding its operations in Oman and Saudi Arabia.

In Oman, the company has increased its freight, contract logistics, cold-chain and cross-border activities. It also completed what it described as one of the country’s first frozen bulk vessel operations.

Meanwhile, in Saudi Arabia, GWC inaugurated GWC Al Nakheel in Jeddah, a Grade-A ambient cross-docking facility designed to expand its cold-chain and regional distribution capabilities.

GWC’s regional logistics platform now spans 20 strategic locations across the GCC.

The group said its wider network reaches more than 120 countries through over 550 freight partners. It also operates more than four million square metres of logistics infrastructure and moves more than two million tonnes of freight annually.
