Freeport of Riga Authority renews its ISO certifications

An audit of the integrated management system to renew its ISO 9001: 2015 and ISO 14001:2015 certifications has been conducted at the Freeport of Riga Authority. Auditors of SIA Bureau Veritas Latvia positively rated the work of the Freeport of Riga Authority and did not find any incompliances in its integrated management system.

The audit comprised multiple interviews with employees of the Riga Freeport Authority, including the CEO and Deputy CEOs, and verification of compliance of the documents and processes with the standards. The independent auditors assessed the employees’ understanding of risks when performing their duties and their active involvement in the improvement of the quality management and environmental management systems.

The quality management system has been continuously used and improved at the Freeport of Riga Authority since 1999. This means improving the competence and responsibility of employees and leading specialists, regular audits of management systems and opportunities for continuous development by improving their management and decision-making skills, process management system and internal work environment.

The ISO 14001 certification, which has been in place at the Riga Freeport Authority since 2005, confirms the commitment of the Freeport of Riga Authority to the protection of the environment, its continuous compliance with environmental regulations in all its operations and continuous improvement of its environmental management.
