Euroseas Ltd. has exercised its options to build two additional fuel-efficient, gearless 1,800 TEU containerships at Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering.

The newbuildings are scheduled for delivery in December 2028 and March 2029, respectively. Each vessel carries a price tag of approximately US$32.26 million and will be financed through a combination of debt and equity.

The latest order follows Euroseas’ decision in April 2026 to contract two sister vessels at the same shipyard, further advancing the company’s fleet renewal strategy.

Commenting on the investment, Aristides Pittas, Chairman and CEO of Euroseas, said: “We are very pleased to announce the ordering of two additional 1,800 TEU gearless containerships, sisterships to the two we ordered in April of 2026. These orders reflect our continued commitment to disciplined fleet modernization and renewal.”

Pittas added that the feeder and sub-6,000 TEU containership segment remains particularly tight, supported by a limited orderbook and an ageing global fleet.

“We continue to see a compelling business case for investing in this vessel category and believe the structural fundamentals remain favorable,” he said.
