EDECS Group and Assarain Group have been awarded the development of a dry port and veterinary quarantine project at the Economic Zone at Al Dhahirah (EZAD) in Oman.
The project was awarded by Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ).
The development is located in Ibri province in Oman’s Al Dhahirah Governorate.
EZAD covers around 388 square kilometers and is strategically positioned near the Rub Al Khali border crossing with Saudi Arabia.
The project aims to strengthen regional trade connectivity between Oman, Saudi Arabia and neighboring markets.
The scope includes enabling works, infrastructure development, utility networks and construction of operational facilities.
The development will also include administration buildings, X-ray facilities and accommodation buildings.
EDECS said the project supports Oman Vision 2040 and the country’s long-term economic diversification plans.
“We are proud of our partnership with OPAZ on this strategic project,” said Eng. Hussein El Dessouky, Chairman and Managing Director of EDECS Group.
He added that the project represents an important milestone in EDECS Group’s regional expansion strategy across the GCC.
Salem Bin Said Al Wahaibi, Chairman of Assarain Group, said the agreement reflects Oman’s commitment to strengthening its position as a regional logistics and trade hub.
The companies said the project will support industrial growth, attract investment and create new economic opportunities across the Sultanate.
