DP World and Evyap Group create global logistics hub to boost Turkish trade

DP World and Evyap Group will jointly establish a new international logistics hub on the Marmara Sea, enhancing Türkiye’s significant role in global trade.

This merger received regulatory approval from the Turkish Competition Authority.

The new entity, DP World Evyap, features DP World holding a 58% stake in Evyapport, while Evyap Group maintains a 42% share in DP World Yarımca. The ports will be rebranded as ‘DP World Evyap Yarımca’ and ‘DP World Evyap Körfez’.

DP World Evyap aims to address the growing demand for advanced logistics in the region, enhance Türkiye’s export and import capacities, stimulate new sector growth, and solidify the country’s position as a central hub in global supply chains.

“DP World’s vision is to lead global trade to a stronger, more efficient and sustainable future. Our strategic partnership with Evyapport advances this strategy in Türkiye; one of our most important markets. We’re delighted to bring enhanced end-to-end solutions to our customers and the many benefits in speed and efficiency of this union. We look forward to further developing the services of DP World Evyap,” stated Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, DP World Group Chairman and CEO.

The merger adds up to 2,088 meters of berthing space, accommodating multiple ultra-large container vessels at both terminals simultaneously. The annual container handling capacity will exceed 2 million TEUs, and the operation will expand to include project and heavy-lift cargo services.

Additionally, DP World Evyap will benefit from advanced road and rail connections, fast turnaround times, and a team of over 900 logistics professionals dedicated to optimizing cargo movement.

The collaboration leverages DP World’s expertise in container handling, customs brokerage, and bonded warehousing, along with Evyapport’s proficiency in container, liquid bulk, and general cargo operations. This combination, enhanced by advanced digital technologies, positions DP World Evyap as a pivotal force in the region’s logistics sector, aiming to boost Türkiye’s trade volumes and foster the development of new industries.

“This is an exciting partnership that will bring significant economic benefits to Türkiye and the wider region. DP World Evyap’s combination of the respective strengths of our existing infrastructures will provide our customers with a powerful new service offering at the heart of this increasingly important region for global trade,” commented Kris Adams, CEO of DP World Türkiye.
