Contecon Guayaquil launches Port to Door service

Contecon Guayaquil (CGSA), the Ecuadorian business unit of International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) and concessionaire of Puerto Libertador Simón Bolivar, announced the launch of Port to Door service, an automated cross-docking service that enables clients to receive their cargo right at their door.

CGSA is Ecuador’s first port to provide automatic cross-docking services.

CGSA said that customers no longer need to travel to the port to pick up their cargo, as the new service can be ordered and monitored online, making the process quick and easy.

According to ICTSI, the Port-to-Door service will initially be offered to clients in Guayaquil via perimetral and Durán, canton located in the province of Guayas, Ecuador. Next, it will be extended to encompass more regions in the upcoming months.

The new service’s cost will differ depending on the freight amount and distance between the harbour and the delivery spot, while customers will have the chance to choose express transport for same-day dispatch of their goods.
