
CMA CGM has announced updates to its Peak Season Surcharge from China to West Africa and its Low Water Surcharge from the west coast of South America.
The two surcharge updates carry different effective dates and apply to separate trade routes.
PSS from China to West Africa
CMA CGM will introduce a Peak Season Surcharge of US$300 per TEU from China and its Special Administrative Regions to West Africa.
The PSS will apply from 8 September 2026, based on the cargo loading date.
The surcharge applies to all cargo under short-term contracts.

Low Water Surcharge postponed to October
CMA CGM has postponed its Low Water Surcharge from the west coast of South America.
The carrier initially planned to introduce the surcharge on 1 September 2026. It will now take effect on 1 October 2026.
The LWS will apply to all cargo at a rate of US$150 per TEU.

- Middle East Gulf
- Red Sea
- South Africa
- West Africa
- Central America East Coast
- Caribbean
- Leeward Islands
